May Your Soul Feel Worthy This Christmas
Hey y’all and Merry Christmas!
As this joyful season of Christmas approaches, I find myself reflecting on the profound impact of meaningful messages in our lives. Recently, a heartfelt text conversation with a dear friend led me to stumble upon a group chat where her sister, deeply cherished and loved, had left her final message before cancer took her to heaven. Reading her poignant words filled me with an overwhelming warmth, as if she were speaking directly to me in the present. Messages like hers, conveyed through texts and voicemails, transcend mere words when revisited after the departure of our loved ones; they transform into cherished relics, providing a sanctuary for processing grief, fostering endearing memories, and evoking gratitude. In our digitally connected world, these messages serve as tangible reminders of love, comfort, and cherished moments shared with those we hold dear, offering solace and connection, particularly when we're missing someone or navigating challenging times.
John 1 captures the meaning of Christmas, directing our attention to God's heart for the world by portraying Jesus as the most profoundly impactful message ever conveyed from God to His people. Jesus embodies the ultimate message of divine love, grace, forgiveness, and hope from God. His words and teachings serve as timeless and enduring sources of comfort and guidance for all seeking their way on life's journey, much like treasured voicemails and texts from loved ones. Embracing God’s heart represented in Jesus being sent to earth allows us to find strength and reassurance, illuminating our path with truth and promises even in the darkest of times.
Hebrews 1:3 vividly portrays Jesus as the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of His being. His sustaining power and purification for sins are testaments to His divine nature, offering us the means to be reconciled with God.
He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.
The light of Jesus shines brightly within us, overpowering any darkness that seeks to surround us. His message of salvation and redemption, captured beautifully in Hebrews 9:28, assures us of His promise—a promise we eagerly anticipate and confidently await.
…so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.
As we embrace the Advent season, let us be reminded that Jesus Christ remains unchanging through time, as Hebrews 13:8 poignantly conveys. He is sending us a message of love, forgiveness, and hope through the story of a little baby in Bethlehem who has come to rescue us!
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
May this Christmas fill your hearts with the warmth of cherished messages, the light of your heavenly Father’s love, and the unwavering hope found in Jesus Christ.
Much to celebrate!
